This blog is a passion project that we created with the intention of broadening our journalistic abilities. As amateur journalists, we are looking to find our ground within the industry and to develop our voices within a casual, conversational platform.

Hi, I'm Ben Steele and I'm a Journalism and Law student at QUT. I have a keen interest for investigating and writing about all the interesting things in the world, while also designing the platforms that they are published on. Co-founding Chinwag is my way of making a start in the journalism industry while I am still studying. At the moment, I am still dipping my toes in the vast sea of the journalism industry but I hope that this experience will give me the understanding to make a meaningful career for myself.

Hi! My name is Sophie Baird and I study Communications and Journalism at The University of Queensland. To me, Chinwag is a passion project and motivating platform where I can develop my personal voice and writing, photography and teamwork skills. This is a massive, but exciting, step outside of my comfort zone. As a second year university student I am eager to learn more about the professional communications industry and where my place will be in the future, all while having a good-old chinwag.
